Lycoris
« on: October 02, 2019, 11:10:07 »
Lycoris is in season here in Tokyo.  The flowers in clusters look gorgeous, but this one blooming alone in a bush attracted my eyes.

Fujifilm X-T3 and Zeiss Touit 1.8/32.  Cropped around to the equivalent of 100mm or so.

I love the composition with the foreground, the lighting and the focus in color.  Very lovely!

Thank you, Tristin, Erik and Bent.

Yes, it looked indeed lovely, spotlighted by the oblique sunshine.

Thank you, John and Bear!

The flower is quite toxic but its appearance is very attractive.

Akira, toxic to eat or touch or both?

According to wiki, its bulb contains lycorine.  In Japan, lycoris has been commonly planted around rice fields and cemeteries to keep harmful animals like wild mice or moles away.
