Iceland
« on: October 01, 2019, 20:38:35 »
My son and I went for a trip to Iceland. The weather forecast told us it would be raining all week. Which it did. Fortunately there were some dry moments during the week. However, even wet weather has some uniqueness.

Since the plan was to hike, I brought only the Nikon Z6, the Nikon F 20mm 1.8, the Nikon Z 35mm 1.8S and the Nikon Z 85mm 1.8S lens. I should have brought some protection stuff but the camera and lenses worked well in the drizzle. About 30% was taken with the 20mm lens,  50% with the 35mm lens and 20% with the 85mm lens. I must say I was impressed by the performance of each lens with the Z6. Also the 20mm with the FTZ felt comfortable.

Anyway, I won’t bore you with my assessment of the gear but share some photos I took:

Let me start with the monochrome versions:

And the color ones:

On our very last evening we had some cloud-less parts in the sky, allowing us to photograph the Northern Lights. Pardon me the quality. I had to put the camera on the car because I left my tripod at home after reading the weather forecast before we left. By the time I knew what settings to use, the clouds completely covered the sky again ;-)

#3, #4 and #6 are easily my favorites, #10 is very nice as well.  I hope they make it to print!

The last one makes me want to be there!  The overlapping cloud, northern light and starry sky creates this gorgeous scenery.  I also like the blue and green colors.
