Dog Fight
« on: September 27, 2019, 07:23:53 »
This was a water bomber coming down to fill up with water on the estuary to fight a bushfire, it looked like the pilot  was lining me up for a strafing run!

He would just skim across the water filling up the pontoons without stopping and then gun the engines and labour off filled up to dump the water on the bushfire.

"Dog fight" is the term applied to two planes fighting each other, since WWI and WWII  ;) If you were in one of those planes, the sight of the other one lining up to get a shot at you would look a lot like this great picture  8)

Nice image, I'm sure you were quite happy for that moment.  I assume it happens rarely when shooting planes.

This would be pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity for me Tristin, it just happened to be coming in at a low angle to fill up with water.

Good on you for nailing the chance when it presented itself, well done!  I do hope it makes it to print and onto your wall.
