SIGMA dp0 Quattro anyone?
« on: July 28, 2015, 06:06:53 »
The Japanese "Digital Camera Watch" just posted a review of SIGMA's last addition to its dpX Quattro series using the latest version of FOVEON sensor.  The new dp0, which didn't exist in the previous dpX series, boasts its "distortion-free" 14mm/f4.0 lens for its APS-C size sensor.

The text is all in Japanese, but you could read the ISO, f-number and the shutter speeds.  All images seen in the article can be clicked to see the correspondent images in their original sizes.  The lens clearly show the lateral chromatic aberrations, but the image is sharp corner to corner.

Here's the link to the article:

Hope you enjoy it!

Not really performing at ISO higher than 800, I think.

Indeed high-ISO (or even Mid-ISO) performance has always been Achilles heel of FOVEON sensors.  You would need to stick to the low (or even the base ISO) and use a tripod whenever necessaary.
