Some ships of the Aeolian Islands.

Sailing in the Aeolian Islands provides views of some interesting ships.

This emergency services vessel and one of its customers were both new to me.

It's fascinating to see such a wide variety of ships!  I particularly like the second one from the last: the juxtaposition of two ships of interestingly contrasting shapes is nicely captured at the perfect timing!

Echo to Akira's comment, fascinating series

The very first boat seems heavily loaded, I think  any moderate wave will make it take water

Thanks, Armando, I am glad I was not a passenger.  The location was over 2 km from the shore, but fortunately the sea was calm.

Very nice photos of some beautiful ships, most particularly the Sea Cloud and the green schooner (?) in the photo with the hydrofoil in the background.  Whenever I see tall ships I think how much fun it would have been to be a photographer (with time-machine access to modern equipment) in the age of sail.  It must have been spectacular to see a tea clipper under full sail, or a Napoleonic era man-o-war.  Cheers,  John

Anthony, these are a splendid set of images. 

Your shot of the ice cream boat reminds me of similar such boats in the likes of Vietnam and Hong Kong where one may buy all manner of foodstuffs - like a kind of floating grocery truck.

Your image of the rock, in Reply #3, appears to have a person standing on the very top of it - is this a place where rock climbers frequent?
