Spotted dove

Scientific name: Spilopelia chinensis

This is an introduced feral species to Australia, we don't see a lot of them in my rural area as the peregrine falcons prey heavily on them.

A pair of these birds frequent my backyard in the South East of Melbourne.

Pigeons and Doves are now in plague proportions in the centre of the town - the restranteurs refer to them as "winged rats". A little sad, as the doves are quite a pretty creature.

BTW, nice colours and a good capture - our two move quite quickly, so harder to take.
