That shouldn't stop you ;) Your articles are a great pleasure to read, and even if I don't indulge in opening my lenses, I like to know how it's done (as a motorbiker, I usually can open apart most of those engines and cycle parts  :o )!

Thanks Richard for posting this link to a most interesting account of the 300mm f/4.5 lens.

I have the AI version of this lens, Serial No. 517XXX.

i have a few here but i dont know the serial  :o :o :o
some are for spare parts
