Green frog on Lilly pad

This green frog was captured yesterday, sitting in a Lilly pad curved up on the sides like a shallow bowl, higher behind him. 

Panasonic GH4. 100-400 at 400mm 1/60s f/10. ISO 500. Hand held.

Very nice.
I'd like a little more focus on the mouth, but the eyes are the most important.

Great point about the mouth.  It is always a challenge getting enough DOF in these head on shots, without stacking. But of course, the frogs are often moving slightly as wind blows the Lilly pad around, so stacking is often not an option.

So, I went back and did a bit more selective sharpening on the mouth area. Not perfect, but perhaps an improvement?

Tha "liquid" aspect of the skin is perfectly rendered, the OOF snout is part of the game, if everything were in focus the photo would look flatter, I would not bother sharpening.

Naturally, only my personal opinion...

Very nice image and it conveys some good mood, since the little fellow (lady?) seems to have a faint smile like Mona Lisa.

I often get the feeling that frogs are in fact smiling. Rather like the effect we have visually from bottle nose dolphins.  Hard not to like them!
