There is an interesting comparison between the Gay Pride parades in Washington and Baltimore.
Washington's parade is very large and the viewers are much more of a mix of the city residents.
Baltimore is a very strongly ethnic city - large black and Latin populations - that seems not to come out for the Pride events.

I dunno if you were referencing my comment .... or just adding background info. But, my comment wasn't directed towards ethnicity but rather to sexual preference.

Right, I wasn't responding to what you said except indirectly.
DC has almost a family audience; Baltimore audience is a majority same-sex-favoring audience.
Locals look at the parade this way.

Sort of, 'I don't wanna get too close in case the 'homo bug' jumps onto my leg.'
