Anyone noticed?

Anyone noticed there is a new Voigtländer macro apo lanthar only in E-mount :(
Sony forbids Voigtländer to produce different mounts by contract?
Phasing out f-mount, only 2 lenses left, the 40 and the 58, in their catalogues, it seems.

More than one of us would likely have purchased that Z lens without batting an eyelid.

Yeah, it will. It's possible to adapt Sony EF lenses to the Z mount  ;)

Well, only if you can give up the infinity focus, with the difference of the flange back being only 2mm.  No space for two different bayonettes and contacts.

Typical solution is removing the 'E' and bolting on a 'Z' mount. Problem will be the electronics inside of course if the aperture is electronically controlled.

'E' is Sony, 'EF' is Canon.

As for the full-frame lenses, Sony is FE and Canon is EF.  More confusing!  :o :o :o

So, Canon use the same nomenclature for mount and lens, whilst Sony abbreviates to E for mount and prefix with F for their lens. The latter symbol which is Nikon. Really simple, isn't it ?

Yes, the concepts are simple.  But the graphics of "EF" and "FE" are easlily confused by the declining eyesights.   :'(

Yep... I meant FE not EF. This is probably 73465th time I confused myself.

Here's the adapter I was talking about. There's also electronics, so changing the aperture shouldn't be a problem. Who knows, maybe they'll figure AF out as well... dare I say, that's like a massive boo to Sony. Sony finally had somewhat of a lineup and here comes the Z mount, appropriating all their lenses.  ::) ::) ::)
