Yes, it is cheaper to tear a building down. Much cheaper.

First all the asbest-removal, and also all the chemical waste (Oil- Gasoline- etc as a consequence of the locomotive maintenance during 80 years)

Yes Akira, no earthquake cost here. Which results in an easier way for reconstruction.

Heating consists of a pumpsystem and includes a Ground-coupled heat exchanger with solar panels as an addition.  For this purpose the enormous space is divided into four compartiments.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground-coupled_heat_exchanger

John, thank you again for the links.  I'm impressed by the through design concept for the renovation.

Indeed it is a nice color composition.

I like this, Frank!  The stroke of a light brush makes this otherwise serene morning scene surreal.

Yes, I like it too.

The grain structure enhances the serene surreal effect.

Still not a real deep winter as the snow levels are moderate, and temperature insists on being elevated. Finally dropped below -10C today, so we only need a decent snow fall to be "in season".

Nice atmosphere in the room with a view, Armando :)

What a snow, Birna !

We seem to experience a 'normal' wet, warm, dark winter, up to now...
