Surfing in Munich

The Englischer Garten (English Garden) in Munich is said to be one of the largest urban parks in the world.

The river which runs through it has been modified to produce a challenging surfing site. Although it cannot compare with the sea, it has its own difficulties, not least the stone banks which would make a collision very unpleasant.

Other part of the Englischer Garrten (near the Chinesischer Turm) would be better spot to study of the (true) nude people?!

Pretty Good timing and good action shoots ... but ... for a Californian, there is something oddly wrong with Surfing in Munich.

California it is not.

They even surf the "wrong" way, facing the oncoming flow of the water.  Essentially it is rather like driving on a rolling road, where the surface moves but the vehicle does not.

Thanks, Armando, yes, we had a few days in Bavaria, ending up in Munich, where we were able to meet up with NG member Afx and his wife, who kindly invited us to their home.

The banks are very dangerous, and one surfer wore a skiing type helmet.
