A final batch of images, starting from the return from Coruisk.

1. The jetty by the bothy, Gars-bheinn looming
2. Detail of the tip of Gars-bheinn
3. View from the jetty
4. Goodbye Blabheinn
5. Blabheinn again, from the east side, with its fierce companion Clach Glas
6, 7. There is little that can be added after David's beautiful stag images. I'll document the shooting conditions, demanding the utmost skill and concentration
8, 9 The small waterfall in Glen Etive, shown differently

the car windows deer and the island castle are my favourites

Thank you all for your comments.
It has been a great short holiday and I am grateful to David for his company, hospitality and organizational skills.
For those wishing they had been there, it is the third time I visit David in the autumn, and the first time that it has not been raining solid for whole duration. (we still had plenty of raing mind you)
As David mentioned, the image of Scotland that people make in their minds based on pictures is not true to reality.

And my thanks to Simone for his good company, and for helping me to stay competitive (at not too far from twice his age). It wasn't a competition but I think we all like to compete to some extent. A last word about Scotland and weather - all my landscapes and nature images are, of course, real. I'm not faking anything, and I do very little in Post except control contrast, colour and sharpness. Scotland IS a beautiful country but the weather is not always beautiful. I have the great good luck to be able to wait for the right kind of weather to come along.

I should have phrased better my thoughts.
To dispel any possible misunderstanding in anybody, I was not suggesting that the images we see of Scotland (in this forum and for the most part elsewhere too) are fake in any way, just they don't provide a representative sample of the Scottish weather.

I said my previous post was the last, but going through my selects carefully I discovered there are a few more worth posting, so here they go, in no particular chronological order:

1. A shaft of light in the gloom
2. Sunrise at the mouth of the Scavaig river
3. Cuillin reflection
4. The boat departs
5. Rounded hills from the boat
6. The Cuillin during our return to Elegol (pano)
