The Nikkor-Q.C 5cm f/3.5, Nikon's "Tessar"
« on: October 06, 2018, 17:08:51 »
I just overhauled one a few weeks ago and I am falling in love with this lens! it's a true "Tessar" if I can say that. Not only does it share the same formula but it also has the "same" trait of being sharp at the center and "poor" at the corners by design. I love Tessars and discovering this made me really happy! :o :o :o specially if you consider that I got this for a cheap price (from Alps-do, of course).

here are some pictures

Exactly! That’s the one!  :o :o :o
Sorry for not making it clear. I got mine for $75 from the camera bazaar. Nobody wanted it because of the slight haze and oil at the iris.

When I realized it’s a Tessar during the overhaul I just had a big smile on my face. It’s a good lens. Contrast is better than the Sonnar Nikkors on a good day but I believe it won’t be as good as the Sonnars when both are shot at f/3.5.
