A quiet and contemplative portrait in beautiful light. Very nicely done.

with a pair of hedge shears only I cut down one third of the plants to see what is beneath. The roots are far apart and the open soil allows for significant erosion. I hope that after my treatmemt with mulching and raddish and a huge serving of seeds to build a bird and bee friendly environment we wil see a dense soil cover. Great light this afternoon, almost autumnal!

PS lots of bottles, broken glass and plastic garbage benesth the dead plant cover

I really like the looks of what we call Pampas Grass, but it was taking over our tiny yard both in the front and back of the house.  Mary has been filling in the voids with bee and butterfly friendly native plants.

We also call it Pampas grass and the roots are very thick and some of the lancet leafs can cut you bloody if you are not careful and wear gloves of the stronger kind
