Fjordenhus by Olafur Eliasson
« on: August 26, 2018, 11:17:15 »
Hi

Haven't been posting anything for quite a while, been busy moving to a new house and such :)

This building, named Fjordenhus, is located at Vejle harbour in Denmark and designed by Olafur Eliasson. It's the office of Kirk Kapital, a business and investment company. What people might not know is that LEGO is a family owned business and Kirk Kapital is owned by them as well. Even though this is an office building, the entry level is open to the public for free every day. There are guided tours to the rest of the building, but as far as I can tell, they are all sold out for now. It opened 9. june this summer and I read that more than 70.000 people have already been past to see it. If you happen to visit Vejle, I highly recommend a visit to Fjordenhus.

I agree, very  interesting pictures of a "special" building !!!
I wonder if those are brick cladding on concrete or if they are a real brick structure (walls) ?

Thanks all.

It is a very unique building for sure. I don't know for sure, but I expect Erik is correct about the walls. Besides the variation in bricks as shown in one of the pictures, there's also walls with different, "open" bricks:

I didn't take a picture of it, but another interesting feature is the doors and windows, they are all curved like the walls.
