What an interesting piece of history that I was completely unaware of.

I haven't yet read the article Jack linked, so I don't know anything about its background.  It just looks like some remnant of a military facility (RADAR site?) from the second world war.

The images look abstract, which I like.  Did you attend a model shooting session?

Fons, I particularly like images 1 and 4.  The model and the kid trying to see in (with Smartphone in hand) is cool.
I agree with Jack, interesting part of history which I knew nothing about.
Now you need to travel to Malabar/Java to complete the circuit

ps would be better if I could read the old newspaper clippings found on the NET. Alas, my language capabilities do not stretch, all of the Dutch people I know (and have known) speak better English and German than I do

I had never been to this former radiostation never even knew where it was until a few months ago.
So we put the bikes on the car drove to a parkingplace nearby and from there rode our bikes.

Anyway it is a site very popular among photographers and also today there are enthousiasts doing shoots and where we stole some shots.

Photo 1 is hdr of a 3  bracketed images

on the two portraits i chose to soften up the images for the light was quite strong

the sheep is from a herd that was sheperded on the way we came.

Ah, a very familiair and iconic site as I hiked and (illegally) slept in the surrounding woods a few times so thanks for bringing back those memories Fons

A friend of mine actually did the reconstruction of part of the former radio building, repainting it and replacing some of the glass.

It's next to a military shooting range btw which contains a hidden pond named Gerritsflesch which is very photogenic and well known within the local photographic community. It does involve crawling through a fence and when the military police does catch you the fines can be pretty steep, I went there a couple of times roughly a decade ago when I was still actively doing local landscapes and luckily was never caught.

Here's a few from a decade ago, please be aware I was only just getting into photography back then and the D200 was my first SLR ever
