It is extremely rare when I take photos like this.  The scene really has to be compelling, or tell a universal story of despair, or simply portray the uncanny irony of life that humans face everyday.  In this case, I think this photo works.  It certainly tugs at the heart, and without judging, makes one only wish for for more equality between those that have and those that have fallen by the wayside.  It makes me think, and that is never a bad thing at all.

A provocative image ... well done. I keep wondering if the bank sign makes the image better or worse ... as in, it 'punctuates' the image or does it make it all too obvious like a cliche.

Is it the owner?

That would be a cliche.

Thank you everyone.  The bank building is no longer occupied by a bank.  It has been preserved for its historical value.

I am touched anyway. Deepest empathy. So the picture works.
