lighthouse on Northern California coast

Hi all.

Here is a lighthouse I liked. Taken on the Northern California coast.

Dangerous and boding-looking place! I can see why they put a lighthouse there!

Great composition and wonderful light. At first I thought there was sky in the background, but looking again it appears to be trees on a hillside.

The only part of the Oregon coast I like is from Astoria to Gold Beach.

Thanks, those are indeed trees on the hillside. I took this with a long lens from quite a distance away to get that composition.

My apologies as this is actually the Northern California coast, I had traveled south by this time (specifically it is the Battery Point Lighthouse in Crescent City, CA).

Really fine image, very evocative - I can feel the wind.  The telephoto view really works for this.
