Nature knows no pain
Nature seeks no gain
Nature will remain

(From Shake, Shook, Shaken by the Dø).

The sex life of these two friendly, docile duck mussels Anodonta anatina has been severed and blocked by a stray golf ball. As these creatures are quite long-lived, they likely wait patiently for another opportunity.

use a golf ball to interrupt coitus?

Haha

These scarlet Cardinal flowers are spreading across the banks of a nearby pond and spilling into the water as well.

water from above is in short supply in the Northern Hemisphere this summer ... so it seems like a good idea to keep near ponds, lakes, banks, baths, taps and shores to ensure a flow of cooling liquid ...

cooling picture, more please

Extreme lush vegetation in this subarctic lake (68.5 deg N), exemplified by the inviting flowers of the White Water Lily Nymphaea candida. We could hardly navigate a boat in the vegetation-filled lake. The resident Whooper Swans loudly protested against our presence as well. I got my photos above and below the water line and felt satisfied even though my D500 on occasion drowned. Dried it out over night and it is now working perfectly again.

Love the perspective, Birna!  The image reminds me of your sample image of "Wood Sorrel" in the "Format Conversion" section in your classic website.

The D500 features wonderful colors and high definition...

.... I sure would not use her under water without appropriate housing ....

Is this the AF-S 1.8/20G ??

Actually it's not the D500 at all as that camera had just drowned and didn't work. So I turned to a sample of the trusty AW1 instead. Shot with its 11-27.5 AW lens.

Today, after being hung on a towel rack overnight with the heat turned to the max, the D500 now sings playfully along again.

July 16

Where the severe drought continues these white water lilies suggest otherwise.

1 aw1, 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6

Shame its almost impossible to look on the rearscreen in bright weather, but plenty dof with this lil' cam.
