Airy, I connect with and enjoy this image in many ways. Full of details  with a great graphic impact. The repeating shapes in different sizes, the visual rhythm. The perspective, the empty space, the creation of depth yet flat colors... the contrast of the overall palette with the windows making it both a counterpoint in color and rhythm and what (for me) makes the image and, to top it all, creates a mystery and a story to be told (or found or discovered or imagined or...) So clean yet so full of many things.
Even after reading the tittle I hope you will indulge me still thinking is late in the evening.

  I love it.

wow, the tones are so even it looks like an ilustration until looking at the detail in the lit windows

Nicely accentuated.  There is no wonder you couldn't resist.

How the flat graphics and dark tones are used in the composition are fascinating in this shot.

Thanks everybody. Comments on comments:
- I did not perform any trick in PP, except a slight correction of distortion
- The shot was taken with my usual night shot setting on camera, i.e. -1 EV compensation
- The shot was taken around 5am while the sky was exceptionally clear (given the climatic conditions in Lille)
The building is a "masterpiece" by Mr. Portzamparc and has globally the shape of a sketched ski boot, and skewed eveerywhere so there are no vertical lines. Once the perception of volumes is avoided, what remains is the flatness of its skin.

The story behind is not particularly exciting: there is a long distance bus stop at the foot of the building...

Thank you for the details of the building.  I wondered why the perspective was so steep for an image taken with a 58mm lens.  The Google image search helped as well.

"La chaussure de ski" is beautifully rendered, and your partial shot is much better then the real building (I've also been inside  ;) ) !!!
Five am is much too early for me, but seeing that wonderful picture (with a Df, of course), I might try to get up earlier in the morning ! Still, great eyes and quick though in catching this peculiar instant  :D

You should propose it to Christian de Portzamparc  :)
