Very nice, what an adorable little thing ;) second one climbing, is quite unique! A bit bright, pastelish, i would keep the shadows a bit lower on some of them

I enjoy looking at unusual poses of the owl.  Thank you for sharing!

While they are all nice, and with many unusual poses, for me #3 stands out - gives almost a dreamy feeling.

yes.. the owlet ran out of tree there and that precarious position (on one leg) didn't last long resulting with the owl on the ground as the adults carefully watch for predators.. as the owlet finds another tree to climb to get out of danger.

Delightful set of photographs of an adorable little Owlet but the scene that you witnessed may have had a tragic ending.

It is common among Owls for the stronger chick to toss the weaker sibling out of the nest which would explain the consternation of the parents.

I fear that that owlet cannot yet fly and may succumb to predators.

i have witnessed a few of these owl nests and they are all the same.. they fledge the nest and work their way to a high safe branch... the watchful parents will descend  on any predator that is close to the owlet.. and indeed, a friend of mine got attacked when the owlet fell in front of her two years ago without being able to back away fast enough..  and it is usually the stronger owlet the leaves the nest first.

great blue herons work the way you describe and i have seen that as well.. they compete for food from the adults and the stronger ones survive with the weaker ones  forced over the side..

Delightful set. Cute and close, love it as a whole but...second image is in another level for me. The movement and the story (oh my...) the character, composition, magic and exclusive moment witness. Superb.

Hi Bob.

Great set of photos! The third one is too precious for words. I see from your iso settings that the conditions were difficult.
