My late father's favorite.

This one has especially deep colors.

The Voigtländer 58/1.4, here at f/8, does very good close-ups, unless you are at f/1.4, in which case nothing is sharp. It is just a (very good) normal lens with an extended helicoid, so beware.

Nice warm colours, Airy.  True, the Voigt is not a good macro lens wide open, also Close Up lenses (like the Nikon 4T or 6T but the 58mm filter thread does not help here, step-up/down rings create extra space) do not really work.  At f/8 it's another story.

John, thanks for the tip. The 40/2 works very well with a close-up lens, so I would have been tempted to repeat the experience.

Probably the 40/2 and also the 90/3.5 were designed to work with the delivered close-up lens.

Voigtländer 90/3.5 such a convenient lens in a small package everyone should have one, get one while still available.
Where Sony, Zeiss etc have been dictating Cosinas productions, it seems.

Indeed. the Tamron vintage 90/2.5 could have done the job here, but its contrast is alas too low.
The only (relative) trouble I see with the 9/3.5 is its limited aperture. I often use the 105/2.5 AI wide open, so...
