Fons: don't you think the difference mostly comes from the lens?

Birna: there is no need to drop one permanently, is there? Anyway having access to wide angle is essential for what I do in IR, I basically never use my 30-110 tele zoom on the V1 IR although it is excellent there.

Olivier, of course not a very scientific comparison, probably the lens and the sensor, both will explain the difference in iq, the voigtländer 90 is just a very sharp lens, the 28-300mm is too general when it comes to specific qualities.

The Blue's are different, usually that is a 'lens difference' not?  The CV90 looks more natural in the colours.

The difficulty with photographing natural colours they don't come out true.

As [false-colour] IR is just an addition to my normal workflow, it is advantageous to have a small kit in the field. The AFS 18-140 allows me carrying one lens less (no extra wide-angle required). The S5Pro is better handling than the S3Pro and its battery performance vastly improved compared to the previous model. Plus, of course, it supports in-camera GPS recording. The downside is colour extraction being less easy. But I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

A few do. Fuji's own Hyper-Utility v3, Silkypix, Rawtherapee, Lightroom/ACR (at least the earlier versions up to 4.x), S7RAW, Darktable (?), Bibble 4.x, Photo Ninja (45%). Amongst these several only support the 6 MPix mode and ignore the actual layout, Photo Ninja being a particularly bad  example as it not only ignores the extra pixels but also turns the image 45 degrees (sic).

Hyper-Utility v3 if you can get hold of the software and it installs on your computer -- neither condition of which is guaranteed; otherwise I'd recommend Silkypix 8.x as it allows fine-control over the processing. Silkypix is not freeware though yet has a vastly less impenetrable user interface than Fuji's own software which is a competitor for the worst program ever written.

Very confusing pricing policy I understand you pay 60€ for v7 and 140€ for the upgrade to v8pro???
Or you pay 234€ for v8pro directly.

Is there a good review of this RAW developer Software? Did you write one? Your results look promising.

You cannot buy the V7. You can upgrade if you already purchased that version.

I stick to ACR for my Fuji S5 files (which does a pretty good job). The alternative possibilities are very very time-consuming

If I understand correctly, Birna uses S5Pro for IR, and Silkypix should be the best one to simulate Kodak EIR color IR slide film.
