The Major's Porsche
« on: April 29, 2018, 20:52:01 »
Today the neighboring village raised their maypole.

Of course the major had to be there.
He arrived in style with a Porsche:

A 1958 Porsche Junior 4, 1Cylinder, 14HP, 20Km/h.

cheers

Looks cool!

The streamlined design doesn't seem to be necessary to the vehicle whose fastest speed is 20km/h.  But it should make the wash easier.  :D

Neat images.

Back when this machine was designed there were a number of single cylinder diesel tractors such as the German Lanz Bulldogs and the English Field Marshall single cylinder diesel wheel tractors and the odd track layer / crawler farm tractor around.  The noise and vibration from a single cylinder diesel tractor has got to experienced to be believed.  Tough on the drivers. Twin cylinder engines such as those used by John Deere were not uncommon either.

Interesting images and story but not too surprising. Remember that Lamborghini virtually started off making tractors

Good point Mongo.

David Brown tractors also gave rise to the Aston Marton sports car - James Bonds choice IIRC.

Harry Fergusson also build a successful F1 4WD car and plenty of car engines were used in his tractors (notably Standard Vanguard petrol engines went into Fergusson tractors for a long while).

Now finding a Lambo tractor in Germany, that would be a thing!

Like the Porsche tractor they found in South America (wish I would remember the details).
