Red-winged blackbird

Spring has finally arrived. Temperatures in the teens (Celsius) are a welcome change to the ice storm of the previous weekend. Once again, the local red-winged blackbirds are out and about. Their cry is quite distinctive.

I have not had chance to try to photograph one these last few days, so here is one that I took a few years ago. It is a much more modest effort than some of the photographs of birds we have seen here recently. For starters, 180mm on FX is much too short. Think of it as an environmental photograph  :)

very good image and well framed. As you say, it is a little short on magnification but not bad for 180mm.
