Entrance De Pont Museum on the right.  On the left 'Sky Mirror' - Anish Kapoor's  piece of art, surrounded by a Japanese garden designed by Sophie Walker  (http://www.seafoundation.eu/sky-mirror-kapoor-pont-tilburg-netherlands/)

Df  300/4.5 ED

Havent been to De Pont since a while should go again but with this weather who wants to stick in-home.

300PF x 17E II = 510mm optical, but I only use the D500, because she has the same pixel density and I crop away the rest anyway shooting birds. So FOV wise I am at 765mm equivalence with 21 Megapixels. Original uncropped frame:

Anyhow the bokeh looks like fractals ;)

April 21 beautiful weather up to the mid twenties centigrades

Geranium phaeum seedling, i have been trying to eliminate G. phaeum seedlings from my garden for years now keeping a few special seedlings with different colour flowers or xtraordinary blotched leaves, without success they are so fertile.

April 21.

Until a couple of days ago, I had needed to wear a jacket, but today I needed to pull out my T-shirt.

Akira, I had missed that thread. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Good to see that despite whatever war and destruction has taken place during the last century, the trees and their beauty remain, even if their magnificence is only revealed briefly in spring.

Hope you enjoyed it.

In fact, the dogwood was about to be extinct during the WWII, but a few individuals survived and now we can commonly see them here in Tokyo and other places.  I'm very happy to realize that.

Suddenly some kind of spring has developed, snow disappeared all over the landscape, and the local rivers are all in spate.

Beautiful Øivind !

We are now a 'spring' phase further, Birna.

Du you like it? I see the forms of the fresh blossom and leaves appear harsh. The already strange bokeh of the 300PF is transformed to something else by the 17E II.

I see especially that the colors and detail rendering changes. Three possible causes:

1) more lenses in the optical system
2) smaller aperture, so more diffraction
3) higher ISO necessary because not f/4 but f/6.7

I guess a mix of all of them, all testable.

My picture for today.

I took it yesterday evening between 6 pm and 7 pm. The streets were really crowded due to cherry blossom, but cars, cars, cars, esp parking cars were in the way of really nice perspectives, even with my "510PF" on the D850 ... so I sat on the floor and shot a series of shoe fashion, which came out very nicely...

Frank, backgrounds including branches, leaves and twigs will never produce smooth bokeh, whatever lens you use.

Here in my part of the world, little birds come with branches, leaves and twigs 90% of cases if not more ;-)
