Upcoming exhibition
« on: March 29, 2018, 01:34:08 »
This is my first exhibition and it is not easy to pick from me own work. There is no theme other than "work I have done" Different colors, motives, artist, style, etc. For an eclectic collection to be hanging on the walls of a "tablao" in Madrid center from April´s 8th. I have to make a decision soon.
Images are going to be displayed 100x70 cms and up for sale. Variety, interest, showcase... all taken into consideration. I´m asking for your opinion and/or which one will you favor. I can´t put more than 10 because of the space and want to hang at least 8.

    6 have to go.

I hope you enjoy the poll and thank you!

Very nice series for the exhibition, Paco!

I chose #1 and #3 from the first batch as well as #1 and the very last one from the second.

That said, I wonder why you didn't choose this one (maybe with some additional processing):

Or this one (#3):

As for "Shall", I would think #5, #6 or #7 from the second batch originally posted together to the thread linked right above.

I also remember the one with a flamenco dancer shot outside with her costume beautifully shaped.  Sorry my memory is a bit too vague.  I cannot locate the image.

How do you think?

Paco, really difficult.  I voted for 8.  As a prospective buyer (collector) I would be looking at "Larger than Life", "Shadow streetlamp", "At the tablao"(sort of abstract of the scene) and "High release" .  I have included others that show your versatility.   The "Sleeping on stage" would keep me thinking about it but would wonder about a B&W version.  Portrait photographs are not something I buy unless they mean something to me or have stunning lighting.  I also voted for "clothes sundrying" because it is so different in context and presentation (does not look digital)
All are very good.  Many will mean more to the local viewers than to me.
All the best with your exhibition.Cheers,
Tom

ps you know your market  :) .   My market likes vivid colours  ;) .  If I want to display B&W or Sepia Documentary Images, it needs to be a very targeted Exhibition and more likely  to sell in a Coffee Table book collective When I'm dead and the things I photograph are no longer seen in everyday life ;) .

I have cast my votes, not easy as they are nice in their own way.
Good luck with the exhibition

Thank you all for your generous input.
Akira, we agree even more than the selection may suggest. That woman in the mirror, the shaped dress and other you have remembered were part of the selection up to the very end. Choices had to be taken. There is another one coming in November in north Spain, I´m thinking in a new perspective for that one and probably very different pics.
Tom, your opinion is greatly appreciated. On top of everything else it gives a new perspective.
Thanks Bent, it is hard but nice hard, I should do this more often and see what comes out of it.

Fons and Paco, I agree or put the title on each image.  I had two large screens up to work out my selections and still not easy.

I would agree.

Anyway Paco, I wish you a successful exhibition, which I won't doubt, though.   :)

#2, #6 and #9. I had to count back and forward, so please number your photos. I wish you all the best.

Thanks again for your generous contribution. I’m going to keep this one as it is but promise that the next one -coming in November- will have a poll with numbers.
