I have learned to really enjoy the sun in a photo - it can really be used creatively.

why is the tree dying?

Not sure. I think it reached it's maximum age. Robinia (Acacia) seldom gets older than 150 years here.

Probably the oldest in Europe is in Utrecht  http://www.bomeninfo.nl/doorwerth.htm

Forgot to mention that it was shot with the 45P at F/22 as an answer to a short review of the lens stating 'sunstars' were impossible.

Doorwerth castle thats closer to Arnhem
