hello from the low lands
« on: July 13, 2015, 22:04:21 »
Hi everyone, my name is Suse and I am from The Hague, Netherlands. I am a beginner at photography, I own a Nikon D5300. I look forward to learning a lot from all the great photographers here on this site. Hopefully I'll work up the courage to post some pictures of my own.  ;)

Hello Susanne, do not worry. Photography is like chess: The rules are easy but you have to practice a lot to make a difference.

When I do teaching I start with this question: Where does the light come from?

If you start to see the light you start to capture photons and engrave them.
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

That this can be an important question I learned in a photography class I took not so long ago. We practised with different objects and different light sources. In my case, I made it easy: from the left!  :D

Hello Suse,

Welcome onboard, you will find this community is  not as big as many others, but it is a very nice one.
The people contributing to it are very technically capable,  artistically creative and willing to interact.
Don't be afraid to share your work! It is the best way to learn and also the best way to become part of the community.

Hi Suse, good to see you here on NG.

In the past we've seen a lot of images of you in front of the camera, curious to see what happens with you on the other side of the camera :)
Cheers,
Jan Anne

I got introduced to the old nikongear forum a while back, and then followed fotozones a little (but never was a member). I really like the atmosphere here and I'm impressed by the levels of experience and skill here. Still am a bit intimidated though, wish there were a few more photography newbies like me. ;)

True! :D I hope I learned a thing or two from the guy who posted pictures of me.  :)

A little late, but a big Welcome to Suse from the lowlands.
And a big thank you to Gary who impresses me a lot with all his "old stuff"!

Zuze is a bit shy for no reason.
Whether in front of behind the camera, a joy to watch.
