Gary: Teslas and other electric cars sell like hotcakes here in Noway. Governmental regulations are at present aimed towards increasing the fraction of such cars by providing tax incentives and other benefits (lower road tax, no toll fees, free transport on ferries, sharing of privileged lanes otherwise dedicated to bus and taxi traffic on the highways into the major cities to help them overcome rush hour traffic, deployment of gratis charge stations in the cities and urban areas ). It is very obvious that this state-initiated policy is efficient and now more than 20% of new cars are electric.
As Sten stated, electricity is cheap in Norway. Charging your electric car at a free power outlet is even cheaper.
