Many photogs shoot street with less care for framing - thinking that simply because it is "street", framing doesn't matter. I think that's not such a good thing. Your framing is excellent in this series and provides an underlying narrative cohesion to the series. We immediately see the main point of the photo. Yet the peripheral details are there also to keep the eye engaged. And we do not get tired of scrolling through the work.
I like it that you occasionally leave in the stray arm (or whatever) on the edge of a photo as in Le marché de rue.
It might have been mentioned somewhere in the preceding pages how you have edited these photos? I'm curious. Any particular favorite app used?
I also note that you have made good use of that 24-85/VR on the Df. Methinks it has a much lighter weight and better balance than the 24-70/2.8G which I attempted to use on my Df. We probably do not need 2.8 nearly as much as we think we do!
Gee... Thanks a lot for such a kind and detailed moment... :-) I use Lightroom and the OnOne plug, allowing editing from Lightroom ! I find it a useful combo, good enough for me :-)
I hesitated a long time between the 24-85mm and the 24-120mm, the latest having the advantage of a fixed aperture (f/4). But I found the weight and size too much for an "all purpose" zoom lens. The 24-85mm being more around my favorites focal lengths (35-50-85). I first bought the non VR, then the VR, but don't use the VR function often.
The 24-70/2.8 is a "monster" in size and price, I prefer most time using my old lenses if I want the f/1.8-f/2.8 range... :-)
