an exercise to calm down. Most difficult I feel is architecture. I know exactly which time of year day and weather I need
for a certain shot. But will I be free or energetic enough to seize the moment?

If it is not an assignment paid of course it is much better to always carry the camera and if by chance I get to the scene
In perfect conditions I take the shot right away

With the X100T I have no excuse not to carry a decent apparatus. Small fast  powerful black. In the Jacket. Always.

Architecture being my everyday chore, I tend to forget about it when taking pictures... :-)

So classic, so beautiful street scenes. Thanks for showing us.

My only nitpick is a wish for a better middle-tone contrast.

I agree, some of those were "developed" on small lousy screens ! One of these days I'll do a "Blurb" coffee table book of those and "print" them all over again with more care... :-)

Jacques, continuing excellent series  :) .  I just showed my wife .  She and my son A.J. were in Rome for a month with their Olympus EM1 and EM5.   Played the Tourists so many buildings and monuments but also quite a few good "Street" .  They both think in colour  ;), but she is going to work on some B&W.  Thanks for motivating her to move outside her 'box'  :).  My son will most certainly try to do better than his Mom so double impact  ;)

It's great to be able to think in colours ! I'm not sure I can, that's why I'm so fond of B&W. I'm impressed by all the posters here who can "play" with colours, and try to learn. Your family is quite equipped with great cameras :-) I'm sure B&W will come easily for them... :-)

"La passion de la lecture" and "La Pause", I will never forget these beautiful photos, Jacques.

And, surely I will pre-order this book.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series because it reminds me of my most enjoyable visit to Paris many, many years ago.
And this series also gives me so many ideas about how to see a city, how to capture interesting sights and special moments.

Jacques, a book of your work is most definitely ('mos def') called for!
Why not get started! Choose 10 of your favorites and give it a go.

The book isn't yet conceived... I have some family books to do of our trips in Turkey as I did on Venice ( Since all the eldest died, we've decided with my wife to do, from time to time, every several years, a trip with all of our children, spouses and grandchildren ! ). So I do have some work to do before thinking about my own follies... :-)

I guess I would order one for my father as a christmas present, he loves Paris and is an eager photographer himself...

Some other spots... :-)

Or the very old motorbike from "Peugeot"...

L'ancêtre... by ArchiVue, sur Flickr, 35mm f/2 O.C and Df.

And a discreet public passage at the Odéon district...

Your pictures seem less crowded than I would expect it from the big city.

Do you choose the shooting times such or do you wait till people and cars leave the frame?
