Thank you... :-) As in all cities buildings are brought down and built again in a more modern fashion, some streets get for pedestrians, shop changes, etc... It's nor sad, just life, but I try to record sceneries that might be seen as weird in  a few dozen years... :-)

We have some very interesting expositions of photographies on the fences of the "Jardin du Luxembourg", the whole paid for by the french senate (they own the garden)...

Or one of the oldest streets in Paris, the "Rue du chat qui pêche", from middle ages time...

But nothing is better then a bird's eye view of the capital... :-)

Aw, come on...! I'm just a lazy bum that didn't choose photography as a work, nor risked my life a thousand times, nor again take pictures in dreadful conditions, bringing back the films, etc... !
I do it like some people go fishing, to calm myself of the day stress, to play with a camera, to meet "real" photographers, and to share a glass of wine... :-) I once met a well known french photographer (not of the worldwide fame but national one), in my café. After a few glasses, he admitted he forced himself every day to select randomly a metro station in Paris, go there, and take pictures of what he could find interesting around that station, then select the nearest café and have a drink..! I was impressed as he was around eighty :-)

Consistency is one element that separates the pro from the hobbyist. That type of exercise is a pro-level work out and a good excuse to get out of the house and have a rewarding drink. After you and I are long gone, he will still be actively shooting his Metro Stations and having a daily drink.

I love this exchange ....

And I affirm Gary's comment concering the sophistication of your pics, Jaques.

But I guess you do it out of a deeper understanding and not need as much time as Gary is insinuating.

Weather can also be a topic for urban pictures... Soaking in the sun...

Very cool style, bare feet & umbrella by the Seine. Very well spotted!

Ah... That's my very special "radar", when I go "fishing" for pictures ! It is tailored to the "lens of the day", short tele or semi-wide the game and the "hunt" is different :-)

an exercise to calm down. Most difficult I feel is architecture. I know exactly which time of year day and weather I need
for a certain shot. But will I be free or energetic enough to seize the moment?

If it is not an assignment paid of course it is much better to always carry the camera and if by chance I get to the scene
In perfect conditions I take the shot right away

With the X100T I have no excuse not to carry a decent apparatus. Small fast  powerful black. In the Jacket. Always.
