Glimpses of Paris...

Something like that ! It's what seems as a new trend (at least in my arrondissement/district), sometimes there's a link for a site but most times not. Often those are voyage pictures (Cuba, Asia, Africa), no names, sometimes it's a print behind a glass and frame, sometimes a sort of plastified print... Quite interesting in fact, as if Flickr and al were not anymore worthy of the real Mc Coy... :-)

I may try that in the yard. Need to find some weather proof frames though ...

On the Seine river quais there are some interesting sights of the way people live in such a big city...

The tree group shot cought me especially, so let's see:

#1 seems to be crafted after an old painting depicting a classical scene with pupils, teachers and senators on the forum romanum. Ah...! After seven years at the Parisian "Beaux-Arts" school (sculpture, painting, architecture) in an another life, they must have branded me with knowledge I wasn't even aware of... :-)
Photography is a cultural act for each of us. With or without conscious knowledge of it, we do tend to "feel" a framing is "right" because we have already seen it somewhere. Making "out of the frame" pictures is often a voluntary act that undergoes quite a lot of testing. It's at that "price" that our own culture develops and progresses :-)

The Picnic is just about perfect !! I was immediately drawn into it to wander around and look at all the interesting small details.

There are Tango dancers on Fridays in the Munich Hofgarten in a historic pavilion ;-)
My mom goes there occasionally to take images of dancers (my old D200 is still in use ;-).

In fact a Jazz combo is playing in Bonn on the street once a wek yearin yearout and if it is not raining cats and dogs, people come and dance in the street. Reminds me of it...

Andreas: Thank you for your kind comment... :-) Living in Paris, I'm after those mundane details that escape most visitors looking after the major features in the cityscape !

Andrea: The "Picnic" is an old one, each summer there are new occasions as it is a more ordinary scene that one would believe, but I've been a bit lazy lately :-)

Some well known spots like the Shakespeare library, free reading and a Wallace fountain (M. and Mrs Wallace were rich americans circa the end of the 19th century who paid for those "free spring water" fountains, in a time where drinking water was often sold).
