Faded Glory
« on: January 25, 2018, 13:04:12 »
This adult common loon was imaged in the early fall.  The once beautiful feathers have faded, even the brilliant ruby eye.  But, it is part of their story, so I thought worth sharing.  I liked the golden water as a tie to fall, with the molting feathers.

This made me querying about the life expectancy: I was amazed to learn, it was on average between 29-30 years.
