A pretty little flower, well portrayed by the legendary APO-Lanthar 125mm lens.

I'm reminded to pull out some of my own APO-Lanthars -- they have been overshadowed by the onslaught of the Z system. However, I suspect the 125/2.5 will handle better on the Zf than on the Z6/7 models. Or maybe even on the Z9?

The Z 105/2.8 MC Nikkor is a very nice lens, but compared to the Lanthars, perhaps  a little too perfect?  It is not labelled 'APO' by Nikon, but shows very well controlled axial colour aberration unlike most of Nikon's 105 Micro-Nikkors in F mount.

Thank you Birna.

I'm old and old fashioned: I prefer manual focus to auto focus. My eyes and the EVF system on the several Z series cameras that I've tried do not work well together in many situations so I still use the D series cameras.

If I apprehend your "handle better" correctly you mean this a holistic sense. For me, when the CV 125 f2.5 is mounted on my Df images seem to present themselves. What a "more capable" camera can produce does not necessarily contribute to an image.

Nice but rare, my father had one with flower many years ago. During the nearly 20 years we only saw it once.

I have had several grown from cuttings but the last time i saw one in flower has been many years, so i am happily surprised.
I always have them out in a shady spot in the garden during the summer, hence the damaged leaves, they flower in August but for 'one night' only.

Very common at this time of year in England.
Many woodlands are carpeted in blue (sometimes, almost purple)

These Bluebells are starting to come out on the Malvern Hills
(this side is on the edge of Herefordshire, UK)

Smartphone image, so the white balance may be slightly off

These are not flowers, obviously, but weird enough.

Usually, the green leaves turns to red, yellow or brown in autumn when they lose chlorophyll.  That would mean that the red, yellow or brown are the "true" color of the basic structure of the leaves.

This species grows red leaves around in this time of the year (late spring) which will turn to green later.  So, the leaves start to grow without chlorophyll which is poured into the leaves (or created in the leaves) later.

Isn't it really weird?  Could someone identify the species?  (I think the climbers are parasites.)

Not sure of either host or parasite (or climber?). The latter gives the impression of a Dodder Cuscuta, but the stems appears too coarse, so think it's something else. Perhaps some kind of Bindweed Convolvolus or Calystegia?.
