Thank you, Bob.  Yes it can render the details better than expected.

In the first image, the jet is easily recognizable (C-130?), and the black dot to the left of Mt. Fuji is not a dust on the sensor but...

When I saw the subject, I thought you were somewhere in Greece using a Fuji camera :)
Then I saw the imeages and I read the subject again only to realise that I was mistaken.

LOL, Jakov!  If the thread is mesmerizing for you, I think I've done a good job!   8)

Nice assemblage of color and shapes.

Thank you, Ron.  I found the spot in my neighborhood a couple of years ago, and really like what you point out.

Thank you Armando.  I have another version without these pesky thingies, but found the posted one more amusing and much more appropriate for the title.  :)

Very nice pictures. For the plane, you are right: very probably a Hercules C-130H.

I promise I will reach the megalopolis one day...
A view of an orange Fuji like you have presented would be mesmerizing as much as your subject :)

Great catch there, Akira. Obviously not from a high rise building, but apparently from some high part of megalopolis?

I love the colours in both.

I will welcome you then!  Here in this megalopolis, there are much more mesmerizing things than Mt. Fuji.  :D

Thank you, Mike!  I shot the first one from the pedestrian bridge over the "Kan-pachi" and the second one from the side of the sidewalk of the Kan-pachi.  So, your guess is quite correct.  :)

FWIW, this is shot on Dec. 25, 2013 using D610@ISO100 and Ai 400/5.6 ED IF@f11 on a Gitzo Series 3 tripod.

The Panasonic images were shot at ISO400 and the lens was stopped down to f8.0.  Both were shot handheld.

Examined at 100, the D610 image is obviously more detailed and noise-free shot at the base ISO.  Also, the image looks more atmospheric, which I like.

The Panasonic images are inevitably noisier at ISO400 (and due to the smaller format), but the details hold up fairly well and CA is much better controlled.

Also, the GH5 image was perfectly dust-free, whereas I had to remove a couple of dust spots from the D610 image.

Notice the antennas are modified!  :D

Fons, I use Rayqual one, made in Japan.  They make the adapters with or without the aperture control.  Mine doesn't have the aperture control.  With the properly adjusted Nikkor, the infinity focus is spot on.
