Agreed.  The bluish hue of the shadowed buildings and their windows makes the perfect background for the cranes.

Fons and John - thanks for commenting. It's an interesting construction site in the midst of high rise buildings - on the site of the old Okura Hotel which was an institution in Tokyo.

Thanks, Akira. You are very observant, as usual. Yes, I put my name with Mapcamera and it turned up unexpectedly a few weeks ago. I have been in Sydney ever since, returning to Tokyo tomorrow to pick it up again. Impressed so far.

Sorry about that, Dave. I was plannng to title the post "Japanese Red Cranes" but I thought that might be pushing it a bit far.

I'll try for some avian Red Cranes in Hokkaido early next year, weather permitting.
