For someone who is on budget or simply doesn't want to spend more and carry heavy zoom all day long, this one could be  a solution, I can't see why not. As usual, it is my personal look. Thank you! Although you've posted crops alongside each image, as though this was to show the optical quality of the lens, there are several wonderful images in their own right in this collection Longzoom.

That Tokina was one of my favorite lenses back in the film days, where I used it with my Nikon FM and FM2.

When I switched to digital, it was with a D200 and the 14-24, so I never really saw the need to rebuy the Tokina lens. Maybe I should however. These photographs are highly inspirational and show the need for a 17mm lens in every photographers bag (I get by with Nikons 16mm f3,5 Fisheye these days. Sold the 14-24 a long time ago)
