Not Borago by any stretch of imagination. Nigella damescena, however, will fit the bill better.

Not Borago by any stretch of imagination. Nigella damescena, however, will fit the bill better.

The slightly off-focus branches in the immediate background are Borago, but the blue flowers in the foreground are Centaurea cyanus ...

So says the botanist.

All three are vastly different as they belong to widely separated parts of the Plant Kingdom, but all have flowers in a shade of blue. Not enough for them to be joined under one common name, though ...

Sometimes I wish I could name every bird by its song and every flower and tree by their names but possibly I will never learn that. Still I enjoy the sound&vision.
