Great sighting!
However, I don't know if it my screen, but the Egrets seem grey to me?

You captured a nice moment. I have the same grey hue on my screen.
Have you sharpened the image? The background is somewhat fuzzy and distracting.

Thank you for your comments. I agree it was too dark. I had exposure set at -0.5 stops in the original image. In the image posted immediately below, I've raised it to +0.5 stops. I also burned the beaks and some of the areas that lost detail when I raised the exposure. What do you think? The original image is included for comparison below the revised image.

There is quite a lot of applied sharpening. I think the background fuzziness is due to the long lens. Even at f/8, it doesn't have great depth of field.  Others might know better about that than I. It was my first experience using a really long lens.
