If the "Cry wolf" moment can be disregarded, let's look at this purely as a picture to learn whether it performs admirably - or not.

I'm afraid the overall rendition is pretty dull and lacks sparkle. Like ice, water and in particular water spray or drops, require some against-the-light shooting to bring out the detail and convey the freshness (and wetness) of the medium. Try again but leave some of the bottled substance stay in their original container :D

The photo is what it is, it was raining very hard so my opportunity was brief.

Life can be very serious sometimes,  this was intended as a bit of fun, I hope it doesn't offend anyone  :)

Nobody suspected you were just poking fun, Tony .... People wielding a 400/2.8 lens need to be taken seriously :D

However, the comments should be read into a context and for example, the advice about getting contra-light in order to give more sparkle is sound. Sometimes all it takes is setting up something to throw a shadow to the background, yet not bringing the rain/water fall/whatever is running into the same shadow.

Water is water ...

Any how, getting a feeling of how to bring water scenes to a better life photographically is quite useful as a challenge. Often ice motifs are served well by the similar considerations.
