19. juli
Dagen da livet mitt snudde. Fra en håpløs serie av depresjoner til nytt liv på tur i fjellet, som før, som alltid har fungert.
July 19th, the day that changed all, finally managed to scale a summit, as I have done in younger days :-)

Regular readers of NG might have noticed a reduction in the posting frequency of late from my side. The reason is I'm tied up in a project for the Norwegian Ministry of Environment, documenting our aquatic macrophytes of inland waters. This will keep me busy for months ahead.

Thus, the AW1 comes in handy for the occasional snapshot !! Otherwise, the underwater captures, which are rather dull as seen from an artistic point of view,  are done with a Nikon D800 in an Aquatica housing using 8-15 Fish or the 20/2.8 AIS.  Most of the time, however, is spent on endless studio work using close-up and photomacrographic equipment and focus stacking all around. Tedious work, but well paid.

The snap below shows the AW1 with six different aquatics, in case any one wondered (in no particular order: Potamogeton alpinus, Elodea canadensis, Callitriche hamulata, Hippuris vulgaris, and Ranunculus peltatus).

What a sad story stepping and killing such a precious being. My condolences.

Involuntarily stepping on a field mouse is one of the risks a nature photographer has to encounter. Has happened me once or twice. These animals follow their instinct and hide from a perceived danger, but that tactic doesn't work well in case of a human intruding on their territory. In grassland, one simply won't observe the poor little critter until you hear its squawking.

I took so many great shots on the pony farm. Do not know where to start. My heart is pleading for some portraiture but I had to promise my customers that I will not publish these. Sorry.

I guess I will open  a new thread with horse portraits
