Cheers Jakov.
I should have thought about it, it is obvious in hindsight ;)

Star trails from the beach in front of our holiday house.
These are the final images of this thread.

Very calm pictures, pure bliss indeed. Star trail shots are fantastic. I like the window shot in the first series as well.

Simone, lovely star trails. I like them both. The first one for the creamy waters and the second for the cactus contrast against the trails.

Thanks Jakov.
A perhaps interesting note: the lightness where the waves break is actually phosphorescence from bioluminescent microorganisms.
I put my feet in (outside the area pictured) and thrashed the water more than the tiny waves did, and it appeared more strongly.
Without moving my feet it was not perceptible, however the shot contains four 30 minutes exposures and during this time the very faint light must have registered on the sensor.

Simone, good for you to enjoy your vacation.  All images are fun to see, but the last star trail image is awesome!

An excellent finish to an enjoyable series. The second star-trail is terrific - the darker sky and the cactus silhouettes both working superbly well.

Thank you David, that was my second attempt (only one per night possible, for obvious reasons) and it worked better because I had learned from my previous mistakes.
Pity I resolved to do it late, it was shot on my last night (finished at 1AM, got up at 6 to drive to the airport).
Shooting star trails is not that difficult but one has to be very methodical and make sure of every detail, otherwise post-processing can become a nightmare (or downright impossible).

In what way?

The way the evening beaches looked on our trip to the West Coast last year, the light and the coastal form.
