Some scenes from Falassarna. I visited the place in 1981. There were only olive trees where today you see green houses.

It has been a bit busy, here in the start of the Easter, so my contribution comes a little late.
It was very pleasant to participate in this NG gathering, we got a lot of input and knowledge sharing, to keep os busy taking pictures in new ways.
#1 Is taken in Omalos
#2 Gunver got bitten with the close-up photography of the flowers, here at the Samaria Gorge starting point.
#3 The White Mountains seen from Omalos
#4 A flower where we had our coffee in Omalos, Bjørn will know the right name
#5 A bug?
#6 Structures
#7 Testing the Nikon V1 on a flower

These pictures was all taken on our first trip to the Samaria Gorge

More to follow, will try to avoid duplicates ;)

No problem showing more from the trip. I haven't completed more than 60% of the processing so far.

Signs of the times
But at least the lady with the smartphone didn't "cut" your feet, and maybe she is a very capable photographer.

Elsid, with the companions you had, I trust you learned a lot during this NG trip.  I will convey this as gentle as possible: you should make efforts to improve your photographic skills, especially with regard to the choice of subject, and more importantly: composition; with regard to post-production; your pictures go very often from over- to underexposed; not to talk about the colour balance and the lack of sharpness / DOF of certain pictures.

In my view, this is much more important than the choice of the "tools of the trade".   ;)

#2 Starbucks (same camera and lens)
#3 The harbour this time D800 and the old 28mm f3.5 PC lens, a master of stars ;)

Some more from Chania, this time in daylight.

A pano, and a couple of HDRs.

#1 A pano of the west side of the harbour
#2 The east side seen from the Naval Museum
#3 The courtyard at the Naval Museum
#4 The entrance to the Naval Museum
#5 A house that need a lot of care in order de be used again, Bjørn have som IR pictures from this house.
#6 One of the many stray dogs in Chania, and a door 8)
#7 Fishing at the harbour, did not see any big fish, but lots of small ones
#8 This stuff was cooked and served as a salad, had a nice taste, with a slight bitterness
#9 I have a picture much like this, but taken in Pokhara Nepal, the winter in Crete was cold, so the snow was still in the mountains

Would you believe this was Crete is my ultimate favorite.
The back drop of the snowy calm mountains with the fussy Greek foreground is just amazing.

Elsid, I have particularly enjoyed your documentation of the architecture and architectural space of Crete, especially this last shot of the house w/ green windows.
