David, how about buying a bunch of Leitax mounts and convert some of your Nikkors to Sony Alpha/E, Canon EF or Pentax mounts?   :o :o :o

I'm betting that I don't have more than 44 Nikon F bayonet lenses. A the last moment before posting I upped that number from 42 to 44 so I hope I'm safe.

I don't have any particularly rare or expensive lenses. The long and short of it is 400/5.6 ED AI and 15/5.6 AI.

More than anything else I need free time..

Dave

Yes, although I could stand to get rid of my all my AF Nikkors - free time to use ANY of my lenses is the real issue.

I would think 42 would be a more meaningful number of lenses ... :o

I'm a bit short, with around 30 lenses that I use (but many more in my collection... :) )

Dave I need to know why 44?  Why not 66?  Or 68?  Then I don't have to pare down!

Because I think I own 42 Nikon F bayonet Nikkors so I upped the number to 44 to play it safe.

If I had to pare down I would sell my 55 Otus (!). I'm sick and tired of lugging that lump around.

No wish to reduce the number of my lenses, so far i have not ever sold any of them, and I am not feeling as a collector, although I cant carry and use them all simultaneously

I plan to sell a ton of mine. I have just been in hoarding mode. I wouldlike to be around 20 lenses.

I've got about a dozen, which I thought was too many until I read this post. I was trying to decide which lenses to sell, but came up with only three, an f2 50,(my first Nikon lens), an f1.8 50, so-called pancake, and an f3.5 28 ( also have a 2.8, so this makes the 3.5 truly superfluous, right?) This week I bought a 28-85 zoom for a one- lens/Df trip on a river cruise in Europe next summer, and I don't count Non Nikon F-mount lenses, so I'm falling way short of the magical 44 limit.

Just added a compensating 55/3.5, to be used for slide copying, as Bjørn indicate that it is better for close-up that my Ai version  ;)

If you have a DX camera on which it fits (my early 28/3.5 is obstinately pre-AI but fits on the D3200), you might want to give it another try before counting it as superfluous.
