Bokeh of the Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G

Looks fine to me.  May I assume this was shot at f/4?
I like the look of "slow" lenses wide open.  Recently I made some wide open test shots with a newly reconditioned 55/3.5 Micro, and the out of focus areas have a distinct soft-edged roundness that is pleasant to look at.

It was at f/4.5.

In my opinion, there is no word "Bokeh", when we are speaking about wide-ultrawide slow lens. Out of critical sharpness zone, that's all. If we want to get smooth OOF zone, we need f/2.0-1.4 wide lens. While 16-35 Nikkor is among the best lenses ever, I, personally, never get anything from it with smooth OOF background, what we used to call "Bokeh". It was not created for it. It is based on my great experience with this miracle lens, but one's opinion may vary, of course. THX!  LZ
