Beautiful and serene!  I may prefer Hohenwchwangau to Neuschwanstein.

Magnificent scene!

critique ? hmm, maybe make it a bit brighter, and correct some of the blue cast

My bias:  I'd like to see the ND grad line be a little less pronounced.  Otherwise, a grand shot.  I like that you can see people walking on the street way down below.

Nice capture, Brent.  I almost feel it could be two different photos, though.

Beautiful and serene!  I may prefer Hohenschwangau to Neuschwanstein.

Hohenschwangau is definitely a warmer, homier place on the inside.  IMO Neuschwanstein is best appreciated from the outside at a distance. In any case I very much enjoyed my visit to Freistaat Bayern long ago.

Pluton,
help me out here as I can't see it!  Where does it show up for you!
Thanks for the critique!  =)

Thank you, Bill!
We chose to go in Neuschwanstein and not Hohenschwangau.  I wish we had the time to do both, now!

Brent, I attached a copy jpeg with arrows showing where I think I am seeng the ND grad line.  If there is no ND grad effect used, then I have been fooled by the natural scene, and withdraw my concern.

That looks like the top of an inversion layer..

Agreed.  You can see the inversion layer off in the distance in the upper right, wending its way among distant hills and valleys.

Thermal inversions are common in landscapes with narrow valleys and cold climate. Sometimes they can ruin the scene sharpness totally as it can be well nigh impossible to shoot laterally through such a layer. it really acts like a wet blanket or pea soup.

Just a different interpretation; not meant to be better. In the end, I like quite the blue cast of the original.

At this file size the new version has much more impact - Very nice PP - Really one has to see this as a large print,,,
