Founder's Day, Sayulita, Mexico 2-24-2017

D810, Zeiss 50 Makro. I stumbled into this "festa" quite by accident. It was quite the affair with different bands competing with each other, the vaqueros each with a large beer in hand and dancing horses, a stage with what I gather was the winning band, etc. It was very noisy, festive and fun!

I like image #2 the best - great expressions!  That lens sure is sharp!  Also, great 3 dimensional reality.

John, I love the slouch, beer belly and drink in #2,  Always a nice surprise when you stumble upon an unexpected Event with photo ops  .  I have a lot of Art from Mexico, even in my house in Goa.  That place looks interesting.

John, you captured many different intriguing scenes in such a few images!  The D810/Makro Planar combo should make a lot of sense.

Thank you for the kind comments. Akira, I was looking through the drawers and fished out the Zeiss for the trip - haven't used it in a long time, but you're right - the D810 & Makro Planar is a great travel combo, especially when you only take the one lens to travel "light".

Sayulita is a fishing village which was "discovered" by surfers. It is north of Puerto Vallarta and has some good waves. It remained a well kept secret for years before the ex-pats descended and now is pricey (homes). Great place with a good vibe. Don Pedro's on the beach is the place for fish tacos.
The square where the vaquero shots were made is three or four streets from the beach.

Nice use of the 50mm angle of view.  The color processing is pleasant and seems "realistic" as well.
